Interview Volker Ludwig, SVP Sales at e-shelter "Blockchain technology can have far-reaching implications in terms of data security."
What are you most eager to share with attendees at KickStart Europe and learn from the speakers?
We are looking forward to introducing e-shelter to the Dutch market and to address the growing demand for colocation services there. e-shelter’s Amsterdam 1 Data Center complements the digital landscape and data center advantages in the Schiphol Rijks district of the city. We are scheduled to open in early 2019. From other speakers, we hope to gain further insight into the Dutch data center and cloud markets, respectively, as well as to hear opinions on the European development perspectives by both speaker and attendees.
What future trends are you expecting to see in 2019?
The digital representations of real-life physical objects powered by AI capabilities will become widespread. These technologies will be used to solve real-life business problems across companies all over the world. The pace of real-time innovations will also accelerate with advanced technologies and, therefore, the cloud, IoT & AI developments are the foundation of further growth. Also, we still see a high potential in Blockchain. Blockchain technology can have far-reaching implications in terms of data security. New security measures and processes emulating blockchain technology can appear in the coming year.
How do you prepare for these new developments?
Within e-shelter, we have our own unit for innovation and cloud platform developments. To stay competitive, companies need a secure home for their IT infrastructure that offers capacity to grow, a network to connect, and room to innovate. Beyond space, power, and protection, we offer new ways for technology providers, business partners, and end users to optimize with cloud technology in a vibrant community.
What is the biggest challenge for your industry, when looking at the future?
Challenges are in the area of capacity and availability, as well as the anticipation of the changing customer requirements.
